I had a conversation with a park caretaker about this maple tree. "Probably 400 people will take a picture of this tree," he said.

So how does one get a shot that is different from the other 399 and hasn't been on a postcard selling in the gift shop?

20D, F/2.8 70-200L EF IS circular polarizing filter. 1 stop underexposed.

Good on you for attempting something less than obvious, but in this specific case I'd say the interest factor is a bit on the low side and the colour looks over-saturated to the point of being detail-less. Maybe the low-quality JPEG encoding required to post to the forum is partly to blame for the latter. Or, it may be the camera or film... I'm not familiar with their properties. Blue and red are also a very harsh contrast: the eye has to focus at different distances for each, making side-by-side use unsettling. Regards, Tony
