So I know a few have already started to pick up the G10. I figured someone had to start a thread like this soon to match up with the G9 thread, so I thought, "Why not me?"

I'll kick it off with a few of my faves from the last few days:

I guess I should have run a little noise reduction on a few of these (I really cranked up the vibrance on some of the jpegs), but oh well.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone else's!

The one that didn't make it into the "texture" challenge (but maybe should have) -

Maybe not the "best" - but some quick snap-shots from last week.

Went to San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park and took-in a few sights. Used the new Canon G10 P&S to capture a few images. All were taken in automatic mode using the full range of focal lengths (28 – 140 mm film equiv).

Started off at the California Academy Of Sciences – one interesting architectural design. Seen here through heavy window glass from another stop:

Old bones hanging about:

The “Living Roof” is different for sure:

And affords a view of the next attraction – the de Young Fine Arts Museum – another interesting design:

Walked on over for a closer look:

IMAGE: http://www.fototime.com/9D8439FEE252501/orig.jpg

And enjoyed some interesting galleries (no flash photography):

Images were adjusted for size only – no other corrections or cropping. The LCD display was used for bracketing – no viewfinder shots.

Best.

Did shut off the flash directly to capture a few later images:

A few while waiting for the Long Beach Marathon to complete. This is proving to be a very useable P&S camera. Love it so far.

Nice! I'm visiting San Francisco for 10 days, beginning tomorrow! I expect to hit ALL the museums, parks, and other places of interest, if my legs (and my wife) hold out. I'm packing a Canon 30D, a Tokina 12-24, and a Canon 24-105...as small a kit as I can make up...I'd like to carry a long zoom, but suspect it'd not be used as much as the shorter ones...
Regards!
Don
