Cool pics and car, 10Mp. Are you using some kind of difusing filter?

So I figured I'd post some more G10 shots for the last night of 2008. These were shot today in downtown. It was supercold! I didn't last long. I used the G10 for color and my AE-1P for black and white - but it'll be awhile before I see those shots of course.

This first shot is an HDR...

These were taken out of my hotel room in Columbus, Ohio. Luckily the window was able to be opened. Still learning, so advice is welcome.

2 elmers tri-fold display boards that already have a white inner surface that I taped together(wal-mart $6.00), and a white matte poster board for the backdrop. I use a fluorescent bulb mounted at the top.

Hi All...
Just found this great forum.
Got myself the lil G10 Dec 31st--some thing nice to kick the year right :)
I went around my complex and see what I could find..
Im quite impressed with the results and how the 28mm lens gets you decenly close.
I converted via LR with some editing using the free onone presets and no NR
Enjoy..

I also have some color indoor family snapshots with ISO 400 and no NR...typical with what I guess most people will encounter..will post later

Cheers

Very nice photos! This is a great camera - very sturdy and well built. ANNNDD it does RAW! (omg)! Love Canon and I think their 'G' series would definitely be a professionals pocket-camera.

Psykon99,

Your pic eeb5c0ea6b_b.jpg is a little noisy. It's the bridge shot above that starts at photo right and goes across to the top left. I'd try to tri-pod it and keep your ISO lower. You'll be much happier with the quality of shot.

I love your composition...it looks great. I think you just asked a little too much from the camera. Your ISO was above 400 I'm sure. It looks closer to 800-1600. This was the reason I almost sent my G10 back. However, once I realized I was asking a lot from a little sensor..I kept it. This is one of those shots where you needed a tripod or a level place to set your camera and hit the timer button. That would have likely helped you lower your ISO and achieve a much more usable image.

Like I said..I really like your composition......it's just dealing with the shortfall of the G10...low light. :) They make little tripods that work well with the G10. That would have saved the day. Check out T'Pod (TM) http://www.trek-tech.com/products/tripods.html (external link) You'll see what I'm talking about. It's a tiny tripod that travels well.

I hope this helps.

No..I don't work for the company. I travel light as an airline pilot...and this little jewel works well with point and shoot cameras
