Cool David, where were you fishing? I've seen a few Humpbacks of the CA coast but never been lucky enough to see an Orca there. Fishing in Puget sound I've see a bunch. They are really cool to watch.

Thanks, yup we were fishing around the San Juan Island, not too far from Puget! We saw quite a few that day.

Here is a sunset pic w/ the G10 from that same trip:

Very nice pics from all you guys, I was wondering if someone could post some pics that are not post processed in the computer. cropped, in camera adjustments is fine, but some shots that have not been heavily PP by photoshop etc. I don't like to PP (read lazy) so I would like to see how good the colors look without PP.

Thanks

The photos I posted aren't photoshopped or anything. I might have had the camera set to vivid though. These came straight from the camera and uploaded to Flickr.

cloudone@ - I like those pics of yours, great colors, that's what I am looking for. Vivid and in-camera settings is fine. I would like to see more of it specifically with people.

Ok here goes my first post. This thread is so inspirational for me. I've had my g10 for about a year and never knew about this site. I hope to contribute more in the future. Here are some of my favorites:

King Benny, very nice pics. Very sharp an not noisy at all. I was at the show in Toronto on Sept 16th and can't believe the number of photos I've been seeing by other photographers on forums. This is proving to be a very popular tour.

Nigel

I've seen many pictures in this thread, they have nice contrast and vivid colour.
I also have a g10 and a problem is that what i see on the camera lcd screen is very different from what is seen on the computer.
I always set the vivid mode before shooting, iso 80, the pictures on lcd screen have no problem but when seen on computer is very bad, it is not the vivid colour that i want.
hope some advice from members here.
by the way i am sorry for my poor english.

There are certain topics with which you must become familiar:

1) Color Space - most digital cameras operate in one of two color spaces - either AdobeRGB, or sRGB
2) Some viewing software understands and employs color space and some does not - so, different viewing software gives different results.
3) Color monitors are sometimes responsible for poor color balance and color rendition. Try to compare your monitor with others using a given sample image.

Store front in downtown Roanoke, VA. I love the colors and neon signs here...you just don't see photo ops like this anymore. G10: 14MM, f/3.5, 1/160th, ISO 80
