Ok, so I've read every post I could find about the Vista calibration problems. So far so good - I've removed the video card stuff via msconfig, so the calibration holds beautifully every time I restart.

But ...

Every time the laptop wakes up from a sleep, the profile is disengaged. I've installed this app from Xrite (external link), which is an easy way to manually re-activate the profile, but it's still annoying.

Does anybody know how to stop Vista from chucking away the display profile when a laptop goes to sleep?

well i subscribed, because I am curious as well as to what people run into. I am running Vista and have recently calibrated my Dell 248WFP with the Spyder 3 Pro. So Far so good, but I have yet to print anything.

Mate, I can't recommend DisplayProfile enough (the app I linked above). I suggest you install it - it's only tiny - and use it to confirm the activation of your profile. Keen to hear what you think.

Fraid not, I've gotten around this by disabling sleep mode on my Visa PC's. With Spyders you can use the ProfileChooser utility to re-activate the profile (though this is probably similar to the DisplayProfile software you mentioned).

Thanks, Grandad, but no, my Vista is completely up-to-date, but the problem is still occurring.

Yeah, I figured that would be the best way too, but I'm on a laptop, so I'll probably keep sleep enabled.

Yes, sounds like it. Cheers.

Damo, I will have to check this out when I get home... Hopefully it will not be an issue.
