Common Buzzard.

Common I know but another bird I enjoy watching. Late evening capture - not ideal but the best of a poor bunch. Honest C+C welcome.

Great in-flight of what we'd call a Hawk in the states. Are they that 'common' over there? Because on this side of the pond I would give my left arm to get a capture like this.

In my part of the world (Cornwall) they certainly are. This is the common buzzard - buteo buteo.There's been a ban on certain pesticides / poisoning in the UK and I think this has really helped boost numbers. You see them all over down here now. In the three miles between where I live and the coast I'll normally see 3 or 4 different birds - although seeing one and getting a half decent shot are a different matter ! This individual I've seen in the same valley a number of times.
