How's the AUD holding up at the moment? Might be cheaper to find a local stockist of said items?

As at about 11:30 - AUD 0.71123 from www.xe.com/ (external link)

Oh darn. I just realised I could have made some money fudging around with my Paypal balance when the dollar plunged. If I'd converted to US$ beforehand I could have almost doubled my balance. Maybe I can catch it on the flipside?

LOL I was just thinking that the other day!

Doubling is a bit of an exaggeration... but nonetheless you definitely stand to make money!

Looks kinda strange since most of the posts were quoted before you deleted them

I agree... should take permission of that away.

Not sure about the trigger. It wouldnt' be too hard, just tap into the centre contact on the wire.

I know the receiver can though :) there's a PC socket on the front.

sorry meant reciever..

on the note of wireless transmitters..
is it possible to hardwire a sync cord into a cactus trigger?
(where the wires go from the board to the hotshoe)
either that or mod a port into them instead of spending $25 on a shoe-sync port for 3 of them

Which ones have you got that don't have a PC port on them? All the versions I've owned have had PC ports...

What about getting an ST-E2? Although the dollar being down doesn't make it seem worthwhile. Maybe a used one?

ST-E2 = no manual controls... pain in the butt when you want to get into fancy flash work. Changing ratios still doesn't help much when the camera's got no idea as to what look you're actually going for... I wish they'd bring out an ST-E3 which allowed manual control. Oh, and A:B C like the 580 does rather than just A:B.
