Searching, categorising, sorting...

Flickr is a pretty powerful tool as far as backing up your photos go. With sufficient tagging you have an easily accessible off-site database of all your .jpgs that's as private or public as you like. I use it to backup full-res photos that nobody has access to and pop a few watermarked ones up publically or friends-only for linking to on here, LJ, website etc.

Does anyone else use Flickr much?

I've just uploaded my first set on there :D

Tagging photos is hard work...

Well obviously you tag in Lightroom first (so you can find stuff yourself), and then use the LR->flickr upload plugin and it transfers the title, description and tags to flickr at time of upload.

photobitz wrote in post #6491861 (external link)
I still don't even know what exactly the tags do... can other people search on tags to find your stuff?

They're useful for searching. You might have 1500 photos on flickr and know you've got a picture of a pink spotted gerbil somewhere but don't want to manually go through all your photos, just make sure you tag it "pink spotted gerbil" and searching for it is a breeze!

I only uploaded that one set because it was from the Flickr Strobist AU group :p I don't usually Flickr anything, since I already have a webhost with enough web space not to worry about it.

Does anyone want to buy a brand new Energizer e2 2CR5 battery?

I had to buy one on Friday night for the weekend, so this one is unopened.

$15 posted.

Yawn... phototax:

IMAGE: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3184/2941032016_62a9dc1cbc_o.jpg

One of my favourites of my last shoot for someone which I've just finished processing... needed some live performance portraits of circus performers.

More of the set can be found at http://www.creativelies.com/blog (external link) if you're interested.
