Whoever thought that mood lighting in a corporate box was a good idea really needs to be taken out and beaten.

I will be in Sydney (city) tonight for anyone who is interested in an impromptu meet for night-time cityscapes or whatever. If no takers, I'll probably just end up going out to dinner with my colleagues as usual.

nah... depends on how people want to utilise their domain really....

it kinda defacto good practice to make www.domain.com (external link) = domain.com, but in the end, it doesn't need to, and there are plenty of people who don't.

[URL]www. is just the web subdomain... same as ftp. is the defacto ftp subdomain which in essence can point to anywhere and different to where the domain points.

It's traditional. In the beginning, it was decided that services on domains could be run on different boxes, so you'd have ftp.domain.com, www.domain.com (external link), gopher.domain.com, wais.domain.com and all could be on physically different machines ('cause virtual machines weren't really heard of then). Thus domain.com on it's own made no sense (which machine should it point to?).

This has carried on, despite the default action for a domain to be http. However, some (a growing number) of web admins now point domain.com and www.domain.com (external link) at the same place.

I would, but I'm not allowed to spend any money and it still wouldn't do eTTL on a 400D (I think you need an ex series flash for that ?).

Not that big a surprise really. Higher pixel density does not make for a better image.
