I used my 35 on the crop a lot in Lao, at the markets and at gatherings of friends where the action was up close, and people who didn't mind being photographed. It would be a bit short for portraits of strangers, I think you'd get lots of pics with that 'what are you looking at!' look.

My loitering - looking at buildings tactic with my 135 meant that I got several shots (accidentally) of people picking their noses in Nepal, that's how unaware of my intentions they were. This man just woudn't stop once he got going!

I would agree that the 135L would be far less confrontational that the 35L when taking candid street pics.
Most of my people shots that i take at the parties generally see me around the 17-24 range as im aiming to get 3/4 body shots. Having the flexibility in focal range is important to me in this situation. Out in the open i guess people are not as willing to pose for the camera.

Looks like this guy has half his finger up there!!!

I never wanted posed shots, plus they probably would have told me off or run away!
But I think when looking through the last batch from OS, my people shots were FLs of 70-135 on a FF, so doesn't have to be that long. My 135 on a crop in Cambodia was way too long.

A spider that doesn't have a name, only some trippy code worries me, Im not going near the thing again...

Yes, it was bred by the US army as an attack spider. LOL

Lynx spiders are harmless... more or less. I've read that they can give you a painful bite but they are not agressive and would rather run away than try to sink fangs into you. I believe they are the only family of spiders apart from jumping spiders that catch prey by jumping on it.

Bruce definately slow your shutter speed down to get some blur and watch which side you shoot from while they're in the air so you don't lose the detail on the bike ;)

Ah, gee, think I'll pass on the kind offers of more work! I'm hoping that once I burn these to a disk that will mean I only have two major processing tasks and one more wedding album creation to do this week! Yikes...I need an assistant to do my day job and a maid to deal with real life things!

I'd rather be diving LOL

Fisheye is fun for group shots.
