If it's going to be warm, then one or more of Crackenback, Red Angus, James Squire Pilsener, maybe James Squire's Limited Edition Summer Ale, or the local Coggs Lager. If it's cooler, then the Snowy Mountains Charlotte's or Bullocks, or Matilda Bay's Rooftop Red.

I guess I should check the forecast before the bottle-oh shuts tomorrow

OK..just checked..mid twenties and coolish evenings...something from List A for the daytime, List B for the evening/Night...finish​ed off with a nice Port....yummo...

The biggest problem with Acers is..well..they're Acers.

A 10 foot barge-pole isn't long enough for me, when it comes to Acers.

I don't know enough about sub-notebooks to make a meaningful suggestion.

My aversion to Acers is based on my really bad experience at work, which is 100% of Acer laptops out of 15 or so, in my workgroup over the years requiring repairs under warranty. There were similar levels across the rest of the Dept too.

So, if the Acer subnotebooks are anything like their bigger siblings, the 10-foot barge-pole thing stands. Given their heritage, personally, I'd steer clear.

Yeah, I haven't had a very good opinion of Acer in the past, due to the dodgy SiS chipset - but these all run the Intel 9-series chipset so it should be fine. In terms of performance they seem to fare pretty well, too.

MSI Wind looks like a toy - only the Lenovo looks serious.

yea so true...

We use the Dell 430's at work for small footprint laptops.. quite nice...

So it sounds like you guys got some good choices going on ... about from the Jim stuff. :P

Clarence, I would say Wind or the Asus for the reason that they would be most hackable if you were that way inclined.
Plus the Aspire only allows for a max of 1.5 gig of ram to be installed if i recall correctly.

Oh my choice would be the Samsung netbook for the great battery life. However, they are not shipping to Aus

I use smugmug - I opted for it over zenfolio because the zenfolio printer will not ship to Australia. Smugmug is pretty easy to set up even for someone with limited html or css skills and the support forum at www.dgrin.com is very helpful.

My main page www.blackshadow.com.au is a wordpress blog and I have my smugmug galleries in a subdomain www.photos.blackshadow​.com.au - it works pretty well.

If you aren't sure about smugmug I suggest you take the 14 day trial and see how you like it.

I've finally installed the EOS Utility onto my mac, but the thread keeps on hanging. Always seem to get the beach balloon after 5-10mins of using it with the Remote Shooting with Live View functionality. Hmmmm...
