Damn net connection - keeps dropping out. I suspect it's the wireless router - have rebooted it a couple of times. Just drops out with no warning.

It is straight out of camera with just white balance adjustment :D

Excellent work Clarence.

From the comments of others I am guessing you light paint with a torch?

Very nice stuff (although you could have cloned out some of the stone chips on the Silvia)

That's not hard. The images in most areas are pretty old. The image of my house for example is at least 13 months old (I can tell it's from before we bought it.)

I would have thought that's pretty "new" though. Those platforms take awhile to set up, and judging by oil/gas production economics, I had been under the impression alot of those rigs would have been set up many years ago.

Nice shots dude. Is this the left-hand Speedlite/Lumiquest-ish softbox, right-hand camera setup like last time? :D

Edit: After reading up on what 'light-painting' was, it now starts to make more sense. So I presume you choose a spot pretty dark, tripod your 5D and choose a fairly lengthy shutter speed. Then you walk around with some light source with a softbox and 'paint' over the car with light? I'm darn curious as the lighting in your car shots are awesome awesome.

Oooh nice shot of Sharon. I've heard she is quite good live. She will be up for Sydney Festival, but alas i have no money for a ticket :(

On the plus, i am now a Canon 24-70 - Big Bertha owner. Gee this ways a tonne. No tax yet but soon.

Going back a few pages, i noted the speed test. Here are my results.

Thanks - she is a real dynamo of a performer - it's the second time I've photographed her.

Congrats on the 24-70, they are awesome lenses.

I had no idea what 'light painting' was and I'm reading up on some tutorials now. So I take it it's just a long exposure where you 'paint' over the scene with a light source so you can choose which areas of the photo you want to be lit more than others right? I'm gonna sound like a moron here too, but I presume you mean just an ordinary light torch when you say 'torch'..

This technique sounds interesting. It also sounds kinda analogous to the dodge/burn function in Photoshop..

Lots of gear over Christmas eh Warren? Last time I checked, you were missing a 10-22 and 24-70. :) How's the 10-22? Did you buy it new or find a nice bargain used?

Yeap. Makes my recent Sydney Motor Show attempt - which I thought turned out relatively decent - look like a rather regrettable affair.

I can already see this 'painting with light' technique helping me alot though. Not just for cars (which I rarely shoot), but experimental, stock and food photography. Pretty excited about this! :D

Mine were horrible without any decent lighting XD. Slow lens + Flash-less. What a headache.
