I think it'll land for just over $2k, all told. Should go nicely with my 1DsII ... same interface with a little bit of crop factor to make my 70-200 a little more snipery. Mostly it'll just be a backup body tho.

And like you can talk, Kristin. :p

Nice cloud shot earlier BTW Greg. Awesome.

Bit on the pricey side (Bugger the exchange rate!) But you will love it, awesome camera...

Josh, what do you think of the 28/1.8 on your 5D? :) I've been erring over selling it for quite a few months now simply because I've already got the 17-55. Furthermore I feel the FL is a little strange on 1.6. People keep telling me the 28 shines on FF, though.

I've got a Pelican 1510 (external link) box here (foam insert) that I'm planning on using for my lighting kit. (1510 is FAA biggest carryon box, and fits my stands in just fine.)

I'm agonising over the setup for the box - I think I need to get my 3 x umbrellas, 3x stands, 3 x 550EX flashes, 3 x PWs, spare batteries and various leads, filters, etc in. (1 x 550, 2 x PWs travel in the main camera bag.)

My current idea is to set use one side for the stands and umbrellas (ie remove the foam), and use the foam in the other side for the flashes, PWs, etc. while the leads and so on can go in the lid organiser.

Anyone got any other ideas?

cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)

Do we start camping out along the foreshore now to get a good position to see them?

Not too bad a choice on the Pelican however it's a hand full when you're trying to fit it into an overhead locker. Personally i'd go for a smaller case and make up a PVC pipe with 2 end caps (x1 screw on) and bolt that through the side of the Pelican for the stands and umbrellas or bolt a strap made of webbing and carry it on slung over your shoulders. It's fully waterproof and costs an additional $20. I use them on my motorcycles for carrying my camp stove, tools and tripods. They work a treat.

Pelican will still warranty cases that have been modified with holes and so forth for ancillaries.

Yeh, sure. Why not. :p

Does anyone know of a good outdoor tile cleaner? Or is my best bet a high pressure hose?

Depending on what it is you are going to be cleaning off the tiles, a high pressure sprayer will do a pretty good job with a little heavy duty cleaner poured/sprayed on. Oil/grease will be a little more difficult and you might need to pour some degreaser onto the tiles and let it soak in for a bit before cleaning.
