That is quite hilarious... LOL.

Luke - Im surprised you picked up a 24-105... how much use would you really have for it? Wouldn't you typically have a 70-200 and a prime equipped on the two cameras?

That's why its primary purpose will be as a walkaround for my wife :)

arhh gotcha :)
Im in a position where i got to decide between the 24-70 and the 24-105.
I thought it would be really easy to decide but alas... it's not the case. :(

don't worry nic... you will understand one day when you have to make a choice like this...

I would like to keep them both, but that would be just silly in my books

24-70 is a much better option. ;)

Although now you need the 70-200 to fill the next gap. :p

I'd just like to say that shots like these (both at f/2.0) are why I own 1D-series bodies:

The second shot was my only frame at that angle, and he was swinging at the time. Good ol' 1Ds nailed it. Ok, I'll go to bed now.

That's the biggest reason why I was thinking of a 1D3 instead of the 5D/5D Mark II...

A few days ago, DDP were clearing 5D's for $2299.

Not sure I can be bothered asking why you want one, though.

Once a gearhead...oh well....

So for the ignorant amongst us...why could the 1D series capture that shot better than any other camera Luke? What does it have that the others don't?

The AF system in it is lightyears ahead of the other Canon models. Lightning-fast and accurate 45-point AF.
