While I think this is a very good shot, I prefer sunrises - the pinks of a mornings sunrise far outweigh the orange of the afternoon,

My parents used to do that to us kids if we were fighting. Grab you by the hair and crack your heads together...you only need it done once or twice and you learn :p Probably get arrested for that these days, but the late 60's and early 70's were a different time....

But, you know, apart from the blinding headaches and occasional irrational outbursts of rage, I'm sure it hasn't adversely affected me....... Although there was this one time....nah, never mind

Bed for me too I think. I've overdosed on Eddie Izzard tonight.

Man!! Why must music lighting technicians insist on using purple, magenta and blue to as part of their stage lights????
Went to a product launch feat artist tonight and found it quite difficult to work with the lighting.

CHeck out the shoes

I never understood the fascination with horrible red/purple lighting on-stage. When shooting this kind of thing it's usually best to shoot so that you don't blow the red channel and then work with what you're left with... black and white conversions often look better than the blah red ;) Nice shot, too!

Hi all, sorry for the OT soapboxing, but this is important. For those of you who don't already know, our esteemed government is pushing the implementation of an Australia-wide mandatory web filter. To find out why this is a bad idea and why you should be angry about it, check the following links:

Thank you. You may now return to your regular programming.

Hrm. I'm gonna read this tomorrow when I'm coming off nights and have time to kill... but from what I've heard about it so far it sounds godawful. :p

I very strongly believe that the government has no right to censor according to what they believe (exceptions being things like child pornography and the like). I'm actually reading 1984 at the moment, coincidentally :p

Little bit of phototax im also considering adding to the Angus James shoot out. Hate this rain....

I don't mind this - clean up your sensor though!

+1

There is no call what-so-ever for the Govt. to do anything about p0rn and the like on the internet. Hell, seeing the odd bit of accidental p0rn is not going to scar a child for eternity, but even so, it's most definitely the job of the parents to be policing that.

My children have the unfortunate circumstance to have a firewall engineer for a father... (well ex-firewall engineer now, but good enough).

Absolutely.

Great detail and colour in the cloud there! I haven't seen many sunsets of late, too much work...

Evening Jim, wasn't sure if you would have come across that post seeing that it was oh so long ago. :P
Question is, how do you avoid blowing out the red? I presume normal techniques of avoiding highlights do the same job?

Finally, got to have a play with my Manning Bar shots.
Thoughts?

nope :)

let me know what you're after in a PM, and i'll throw an order in toward the end of the week or early next week.

I'll confirm price before order (as I get better prices the more i order).

Can be imedions or eneloops. personally recommend the imedions over eneloops.

based on previous costs, it 'SHOULD' be ~ $20 a set of 4 with plastic case :)

I like the capture Wazza, cool with the lighting effect and the tones, maybe crop out or remove the distraction at the top of the pic.

Finally submitted my tea candle image in to photo5 comp. Could not light it though as we ran out of gas whilst cooking the vegies to go with the Damo recipe Lamb Shanks. Could not find a match or lighter in the house. Tried "paper in the toaster" ( warning do not attempt this at home kids) and al sorts. Anyway its submitted, probably one of the few unlit images there!
