After a drive to see Mt. St. Helens, I left after the fog offered no signs of showing the mountain. On the way back, the sky started clearing a little so I stopped for this shot. There's a little over 20 images for this. Taken with a 5d, 24-105 in late August. C&C appreciated.

Very nice scenery out there. Since you are from Norway, you have something to compare the trees with. Are the trees in Norway commonly as big as the ones you saw up around St. Helens? I worked up there in 1982 for the Highway Department, putting the roads back in so they could get the downed trees out. People just don't believe me when I tell them how big they are. :)

I think the trees in Oregon and Washington are bigger. I've seen some big trees in europe, but the weather on the West Coast definitely helps them grow much quicker. I've also seen some big trees in the Beaver Islands (tip of the mit in Michigan). Basically it was the swamp area that was too difficult for the loggers to get to. Oh yeah, I'm from the US, and will only be in Norway for another year or so before I return.

Too bad you couldn't shoot the mountain. The main road around the East side from Cougar Washington, then came around on the North side is where I was working. There was an overlook/pullout at about mile 17 I think, that you could look across to the main peak which was about 10 miles as the crow flies and still filled half of the view. It is impressive and would make a great pano. :)

Now that I've been able to get photoshop to work on my vista 64, I've given this another go. C&C is greatly appreciated. Please let me know which version you like more, and why? Also if I should do anything differently.

Yes, the second version is much nicer. Color saturation is great.

Thanks, after I posted it, I realized the sky on the right is a bit bright. I'm thinking I should crop that out so it isn't as distracting.
