1 is good
2 needs a little fill flash to get rid of the under-eye shadows the onboard flash is fine for this kind of thing.

Well honestly, if that's supposed to be the Canon f/1.4, I'm very surprised the images came out so soft...unless you were deliberately trying to get a "soft focus" effect. I don't wish to sound rude, but I've gotten much sharper images with my cheapy nifty fifty. Now with that I would add that this looks like it could be a DOF issue too...at least in regards to the first image. The right edge of the eye brow does appear to be sharp, but the eye itself is way to soft...like you missed the focus point or something (I think I also might have done a little blemish removal for this type of shot as well). The second shot though just looks soft to me.

I also have to agree with Karlos in regards to the second image...ya really needed some fill flash there. Also, I would have cropped the image in a bit tighter there taking out most of the wasted space on the top and right side of the image.

Ok...sorry if that's not what you wanted to hear. Not trying to be rude or anything, must my honest opinion.

Peace,
Jim

I would have liked the first one better if it was focused on the eye ball itself rather than the lashes :) A nice crisp eye is always breath taking :) But! on that note, managing to get those little bitty lower lashes in sharp focus is pretty impressive :)

#2 needed a flash & that bra strap edited out :)
