Beautiful image, Mike. Love the low view point. Interesting the way the markings around the eye line up with the beak too. Do they do that on all of this species?

The key to making striking bird / animal images (not that this particular one qualifies) is to photograph your subject at his eye level. I was lying in the mud with the 500's foot resting on top of a Frisbee.
