Idaho deer and turkeys (my first time hunting with a 40d instead of a rifle)

Ok, folks, I do hunt (like about 90% of the folks in Idaho) but this year I took my 40d and concentrated on photos and as a result I did not get a deer but I am happy with some of the photos.

Little spike and a bunch of turkeys pretty thick bruch so a little problem with the focus

The first and third shots look soft and noisy. First picture definitely looks OOF. I am sure that compression had something to do with it, but you might want to make sure that you are not having problems with front focusing. Good captures though. I will be joining the "camera instead of rifle" club myself, since I currently do not have any rifles and have not hunted in several years. I still have my bow, but it just sits in my apartment since I live in the city and don't really have a convenient place to shoot it.
