In one of my finest moments of stupidity, I left my minimag with my entire (albeit meager for most) collection of gear behind my dad's car to put in the trunk... got distracted... forgot about it... and to make a long story short, continued to drive over my little lowepro.
After regaining control of myself and choking back an insatiable desire to vomit, I mustered some level of bravery and opened the bag.
Much to my surprise, the gear seemed unscathed. In fact, all my glass survived without the slightest damage! No scratches or dents; the focusing and zoom rings work perfectly. Even my plastic nifty and 24-105L hood were uncracked.
The bad news is the housing of my 1 year old Rebel XT was shifted at a seam by the power switch and refused to power up with a full battery. I was planning on keeping it for a while longer, but it looks like a more immediate upgrade is forced upon me. (If anyone is selling some used bodies, even very-used bodies... I would be willing to consider).
The point of the post is to testify for the durability and quality of LowePro bags for those who are having trouble deciding. The tires didn't run over the equipment, otherwise none of it would have stood a chance, but it did lift a small sedan on its own suspension from the undercarriage. Once I washed the dirt off it was as good as new!
VERY AWESOME BAG.
