Hey guys - I don't post much (as much as I should anyway...)

So I got one of my good friends to model for me the other day, and this is what I came up with. I'd like to get more into this kind of work - and any and all advice would be nice. ;)

All shot with natural light, 10D, 70-200F4, Nifty-Fifty, and Tamron 28-75.

Let me know please! and thanks!!

Beautiful model! I'd say purple is her color, and it definitely goes well with the fall colors!

For your first portraits, I think they look good for the most part. My complaint would be with the composition. You have her centered in each frame. And while they don't look bad, I think they don't look very interesting. Also, be careful not to cut off toes (#4). :)

I really like the close-up with #2. She looks very natural and relaxed. The colors in all of the pictures are very nice!

Very nice images. I wish the trees were that colorful here.

The only thing I'd like to add is:

For some reason my eyes go straight to her "Ugg-style" boots since it is very contrasting to the background. Maybe it's just me?

No, I agree. I love the shots, beautiful young lady. The boot's take my attention off of her also for some reason. In the shots where the boots are much closer to the camera than her face, the size of the boots are exaggerated (like a wide lens was used). #2 is gorgeous, and #1 could be with a slightly different pose, not so squared with the camera. All are very nice it just feels like a boot commercial. This is just my honest feedback not meant to be overly critical. She is beautiful and the exposures are nice (except blown out sky which I struggle with at times) . Less boot and more shoulder toward the camera for me though. Great location.

Thanks guys!

I can see where you guys are coming from with the boots - wasn't my idea, I just had her show up wearing whatever she was.

I struggle with posing, and the only reason (I think) these turned out well is because she has done some modeling in the passed, so she knows how to pose - but I'm learning, haha.

Thanks for the comments you guys - keep them coming! I'll try to work on the composition more next time.
