Hmmmmmmmmmmmm....I dunno...they have always been know as bull thistle around where I grew up. The link is what people just call thistle or hedge thistle. Definitely some kind of thistle...:lol::lol::lol:

I don't remember Williamsburg, I haven't been back to the area in well over 10 years or better.

Another drive you might consider though is up to Sleeping Bear dune. The view from top, as I recall is fantastic looking down at the islands, but I don't think I'd make that sand climb with my camera and good lenses...and I don't pamper my lenses, but....

Yes, definitely, the Teasle is also known as Fuller's Thisle or Fuller's Teasle. I'll meet you 1/2 way...it is a weed.:lol::lol::lol:

By the way how did you manage to keep the camera sand free?

Dan, I have also read that it is believed the ancients, may have used the dry pods as hair brushes.

Don't ya just love when people in different parts of the country have different names for the same thing? I'm still trying to figure out what a hoagie, a grinder, a hero sandwich and wedge are....you order one and they give you a sub. Crazy!
