Good Evening All

Long day so far, worked hard in the yard, then went to a football game. Unbelievable weather here, November 1st and I was in short sleeves as the high was 19C (66F), better then we get in the summer a lot of the time.

They're the BEST! I got one in our family gift exchange last year. I LOVE it. I put a smidge of olive oil in the bottom and put in the popcorn, turn the handle for a couple of minutes and voila! delicious popcorn in a matter of seconds.

Amazingly simple and delicious.

I have been using one for years now. Much better than hot air, and I can't stand microwave at all, way to greasy. You do need to watch heating olive oil too much, it does not have a high flash point and the taste changes with heating.

I put a skim of canola oil in the bottom, and just as the corn starts popping drop in a wee bit of melted butter and spin the handle 'til done. The I sprinkle just a wee bit salt or brewers yeast (very, very yummy). If you keep the butter content down, it is a very diet wise snack, basically you are eating a very small amount of grain.

I'm totally not caught up this is a run through really quick. Had to rush up to my mom & dad's house. Dad was out working in a cell phone dead zone so mom called me when she fell and hurt herself. We're back from the urgent care with 7 stitches above her eye, a broken toe and some other scrapes and bangs.... Could've been much worse! :( So I'm off again....

Glad to hear she is only banged up, here's to hoping she heals fast.

Evening folks.

Jamie Holladay wrote in post #6601452 (external link)
I have some sad news to share. My grandfather's (who passed away 20 years ago) 4th wife passed away today. She was like a member of the family. She took care of him in his last days. My mom's family has always included her and treated her like she was family. She finished every sentence/paragraph with "an' all". That drove me nuts. But she was good people. She never had kids of her own. But ended up with 6 and 10+3 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. So if you guys don't mind keeping my mom's family in your thoughts over the weekend I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Sorry to hear this Jamie...you and family are in my thoughts.

I got 2 emails today, from a brother and a mother of one of the coastguardsmen on the rescue. They told me that the photos touched them beyond measure. I was so moved by their letters. It made me feel better than any wedding shoot I've ever done.

Well isn't that great! Looks like you have a new niche market there.
