Sweet. It's been about 45 years since I've had a decent glögg

Hey, have I got a role for you....

If that's when you started drinking, it explains much . . . .

Let me guess. I wear a cloak and carry a staff . . .

Look. Wade figured because he had the day off work that he should be able to sleep. Nice spot for a nap, eh? ;)

CAT!!! Why did you . . .

oh oh oh! ! I have a funny story to tell you from today.

We took the cats to the vet (that's where we board them) and I was going in the back with them to get them settled and I hear the receptionist say (as I was heading down the hallway) "...so Puddles is in here for a distemper and rabies shot today..." (Dan was out there...and when we got to the car he said "DID YOU HEAR THAT?? I THOUGHT I'D BEEN SET UP!!":lol:

And now you'll never get him anywhere near the place again!

If you want the sky, not the foreground, you'll have to forget about trusting your meter. It's going to try to "properly" expose the sky. Try manual exposure starting at around 2-4 sec and adjust from there until you get something you like. If you do want the foreground light as well, use a grad ND over the top of the picture.

I forgot to mention last night... While we were exploring Zion, the hotel where I'm staying decorated for Christmas. The lights are up, the lobby is all festively decorated, including a large tree. Etc. Isn't it a little too soon for this?

Erm . . . looked at where you're posting? That's old news.

I will stifle my fake tree rant and instead gently point something out. Trees are a renewable resource grown on American farms by people who work hard, pay taxes, maintain farm land benefiting the environment, and spend their money here. Fake trees are made by essentially slave labor in china from plastics and chemicals, shipped in a box made of real trees on a ship spewing pollution, just to eventually be thrown in a landfill here. The money made here is made by giant corporations like wal-mart and the profits made by the Chinese are used to fuel the giant military and political machine. Buy a real tree from a real American farmer it benefits you in the long run.

Roll the national anthem. :D

Kidding aside, I agree completely with what you said in your ra.....er, gentle pointing out. :D

I knew that. :D
Thus my agreeing.
I am sure it is the same everywhere, but here in Calgary there are lots of drop off spots to take trees so they can be mulched and used by the Parks Department. No waste.

Actually, that's what Montgomery County (where Zack and I both live) does too.

I'm a fake tree girl myself....soon I plan on having one that is pre-lit.

I bought a fake tree about 2 yrs ago. Thinking it would save me money in the long run. I hate it!!!!! It doesn't smell good, and takes forever to get all the branches bent the right way. This year I'm getting a real one again!!:D

Morning All!!!!

I could try, but Jennifer is already asking for a lift. :p
Besides, you would have to put up with 14 of the Bennett clan, and they are a crazy, weird bunch.

Hmmm....that might be a tight fit. But, may I remind you, I DO speak Spanish.

I have always had a real tree, I just love the look and smell of them. I either head out to our land and grab one, or just get one from the local Boy Scouts. They smell soooo nice....

I'm a real tree guy as well. My wife is pushing hard for the fake one but every time the real one comes in and smells up the house, she sees my point. It's just so xmas

sevillafox wrote in post #6635046 (external link)
..My favorite was this little charlie brown 3 foot tall one that I went out and got myself. I tied a sled to my waist and strapped on the skis until I found it, cut it down, and brought it home. We only put one string of lights on it and only sentimental type ornaments. It was the coolest xmas tree. I think that was 15 years ago or so.

My favorite has been the ones we have been putting up the last two years. They are all organic except for the lights. We got a food dryer so come Dec 1 I head out to the local market and get a bunch of exotic fruits, slice them thin, and dry them. Some fruits have very pretty patterns inside and make stars and such. When xmas is over we take off the lights and put the tree out for the birds. Within a week all the fruits are gone.

Now, that is one hell of a good idea. :D

Unfortunately, my wife does have a bunch of really nice ornaments that we would have to put up. Though we do fill with some simple ornaments as well, these we could substitute with your fruit idea.
