Hi,
I have a 300d and I'm thinking about getting an ef 100-400 lens for the sports photography that I love. Will this lens give good results with this base unit or is there a better option.
Thanks

If you don't have very good to great light you are likely going to have to crank up the iso to get the shutter speed you need to stop action. At least that is my experience with this lens, which I use as my main wildlife lens. For a faster 400mm lens you will need to roughly triple your budget though. I love this lens for it's versatility and wouldn't give it up. I guess the only limiting factor would be your 300d's high iso performance. Fuji X-T2, Fuji X-Pro1, XF18-55, XF10-24, XF50-140

However you might still able to take few shoots with it.

I have a rebel xt that I pull out for nastalgia sake once and a while and I am leary of shooting over iso400. you will run into problems with light. Canon "Snappy".... Thanks Mom and Dad!

edrader "I am not the final word" More info | while the 100-400L isn't the best sports lens the 300d is the weak link here. getting even a 20d will offer major improvement. http://instagram.com/edraderphotography/
