You're not seeing things. They're over-saturated. This photo was taken by a FB friend whom, up to that point, I've never met in person. We happened to be in the same flower field that day, and we recognized each other. After a few minutes of chatting, we each went about our business. I was so engrossed in what I was doing that it came to me as a complete surprise when the FB friend sent me the image via FB later that day. I didn't want to mess with his own image, so I left it as it was sent to me. Although I'm not a fan of messing a bit much with the original image, this one's special given the circumstance that led to it.

Oh, that explains a lot. I wouldn't edit someone else's image either. Thank you for the explanation! Stay healthy!
