Here's a photo of me shooting Tommy Shaw of Styx at the House of Blues in San Diego on February 14, 2009. It was taken by David Hosler who, at the time, was Vice President of Product Development for Taylor Guitars (I worked there, as well). The guitar Tommy's playing in this photo was one of the new Solidbody Guitars we'd come out with, and we were working on developing a Tommy Shaw Signature Model. It never came to fruition, though...

Thanks. We went barefooted from the end of the school year to the beginning of the next. And our feet loved it.

And not just in the country. Here we are in a city park. The world wasn't full of broken glass then.

Your mum? has a very smart dress.
Not to mention junior with similar striped gear

Yes. And no glass.

Before anyone notices, I wasn't using the flashgun and was 100% not trying to bounce it off a cloud :)

From about this age on, we spent every summer at the lake. Father's photo.

Lovely photo
Really nice when one has memories like these. Photos can be great reminders but also launch us down other memory lane stuff.
Great catalysts for such distant memory recalls :-)

Thanks. I'm lucky in that my father took photos. Not many people did in those days. And he developed his own films and built an enlarger with which he made prints in our basement bathroom. Red light and all, so interesting to a little boy.

1974 - 11 Years old and headed off to Mission Bay Little league for a game (just under 5 miles away). My single parent dad worked swing shift so I was on my own, but he did snap this photo of me on my way out one day. We were poor, but living in Mission Beach without parental supervision from 3PM to 1AM wasn't so bad...
