I was at work today inspecting an electrical transmission line and saw a hundred or more pidgeons sitting shoulder to shoulder on a wire. I thought I would take the same old shot of a bunch of birds on a wire and reached into the back seat to get my camera equipment. I turned around just in time to see one of the pidgeons fall like a rock to the ground and all the other pidgeons disappear. Then this hawk landed on the downed pidgeon and began to finish off it prey. The closest ID I could find is a Cooper's Hawk but I would appreciate help with the identification.
