You nailed exposure which is a big part of photography.

Don't understand why you used flash - can't see any reason for it, but I also don't see any harmful artifacts from it either.

The real problem here is the focal length. An 18 mm lens is of little value in any kind of portraits, whether it be of a car or a person. You are bound to get the kind of distortion that we see here. Using an effective (35 mm equivalent) of 85 mm focal length avoids such distortion.

Nonetheless, you deserve a commendation for holding the camera level and getting the telephone poles perfectly straight up and down - and as was mentioned above, you got the exposure right.
