Walked in for a lense, left with a camera

So yesterday I went to my local Henry's photo to price and possibly buy an 18-55 IS and a 55-250 IS. When I asked to see it he put the lense on the XSi (I have an XT) and it was all downhill from there. What a nice camera!

So I ordered it and have since put my XT up for sale for a very reasonable price. What convinced me to do this was the fact that the XSi came with one of the lenses I wanted to buy anyways and I was offered a pretty decent deal on the 55-250.

So now I'm just waiting for my order to come in (55-250 wasn't in stock). I think it should be here on Tuesday and I just can't sit still.

So besides the increase in Mp, better kit lense and larger screen, what else was improved? It just felt like this camera was a large step forward but I was unwilling to make the jump to full frame.

Too many of us do that especially when we walk into a place like B & H here in New York City. They have so many great things that when you go in for one small thing, you end up buying 3 or 4 things.

This is exactly why I don't visit the B&H store. I do enough damage to my bank account online with B&H!

Yep, there are 3 places I can not go into with a credit card, Home Depot, Acadmey, and a camera store:lol:
Congrats on the new camera and lenses.

That's why I only shop online. No friendly and helpful salesperson, and the nice shiny things looks less shiny on my computer screen than when they are in my hands. :D

Now, if only there was a way of stopping me entering my credit card details into my computer after a few glasses of wine... :o

Yep, I always open three tabs, the online store, my credit card balance and my online bank statement. That does pretty well to keep me grounded.

I was informed of this and actually I am excited about it. My IBM notebook has an SD card reader. Sure makes my life easier.

I have been wanting to improve my gear ever since I stopped considering myself a complete novice. This purchase was my reward to myself for finishing my first round of midterms.

P.S. Engineering has some hard math in it. lol

I have the xt and the xsi is much more to my liking than the xti...I'd be real tempted, heck, I AM real tempted to upgrade to it...'cept that I hafta remember that the xt is my releaf/backup/walkaround, not my "starter" (30D) I take when I'm on "assignment"...the xt is still a fine camera (which I do take with the 30D) that is nearly always with me for that grab shot...ps. you'll like the new IS kit, and if you care to, look around for this...I got this 50mm pancake lens at a thrift shop for $10...makes for a nice compact combo on the XT...

Yes, but does your IBM notebook have a SDHC reader?

Higher capacity SD's (SDHC) require an SDHC reader.
(I think 4GB and higher are SDHC's.)

Just pay attention when you buy the cards...
