E-session: Melissa and Paul

I hardly ever post here anymore, but this is where I first really learned about the photo biz, so now that I have something that may almost be worth looking at, I wanted to come share here. I would really appreciate c&c on these. This was my first engagement shoot, and I want to keep getting better, so I'd love to hear how you think I can.

these are really nice. its hard to pick a favorite because they are all so well done.

very well done! my favorite is # 8, also like #4....

with # 7 I would remove the sun spot on his hair.

I agree with everyone, these are all nice, but the pumpkin proposal has to win the most creative of the group.

good composition - looks like a fun couple ... which means you captured there personality.
agree w/ the previous post on the sun spot.

IMHO: #2 is the only one that does not fit w/ the rest. I can see what you where going for - it is just the wrong stair well. but if we don't try how do we know what works and does not.....

Looking forward to see more of your future work ..... good stuff.

these one - nope, no flash. Some of them could have used it, but my flash actually kind of crapped out on me that day, so I did what I could without.

thanks for the feedback! I agree that that shot could have worked better with a different stair well - one with more flights would have been nice.

First shot is nice of their face. I suppose it depends upon your clientele. One thing that I would like to hear from each is whether the client's liked/loved/were blown away with the images. That is the real test, however nice job here. Side view of her is not her most flattering and if she sees ANYTHING when she looks at these, it'll be noticing how, ah, small she looks...

I like the last photo the best. Nice feeling, good depth, could have used a bit of fill, but otherwise nice...

Look like a pro to me.

I'm not sure if you're actually asking me or not, but the clients were really happy with these. I'm happy with the outcome as well. I know that I need to keep improving, but I feel like I delivered their money's worth, and made them happy, and that's the important thing to me.

You have some interesting composition in terms of shooting angle as well as using the surrounding environment.

4 is neat
5 is awesome
8 is a keeper
