Should I bother sending my A650IS in for repairs?

I recently got an A650IS, and it has 3 bad pixels on the LCD (a pixel that's always black, a pixel that's always green, and one whose color varies depending on what angle you look at it). In addition, it has a few bad pixels on the CCD, as they always show up in my downloaded images.

I know that Canon would fix the bad pixels on the CCD, but does anyone know if they would fix the bad pixels on the LCD? I've read that camera manufacturers don't consider that to be fixable under the warranty. But the manual only said that some black and red pixels on the LCD is normal - it didn't say anything about green pixels, so I wonder if my green pixel makes it eligible for a warranty repair? I have emailed and called Canon about it, and was not able to get an answer on whether they would fix the LCD. They only said to send in the camera.

Now I wonder where should I send in the camera? Their email reply told me to send it in to a facility in Newport News VA, and their phone rep told me to send it in to a facility in Elk Grove Village IL (she said Newport News only handles SLRs). I have seen some posts on the internet saying Elk Grove Village is bad, and that a facility in Irvine is good, and another facility in New Jersey might be good. Haven't seen anything about Newport News. Would Irvine or New Jersey service the A650IS?

I was surprised to find several posts bashing the quality of any Canon factory service center. I would have thought they would all be of high quality. Makes me wonder if I should even send the camera in at all? If they aren't going to fix the bad pixels on the LCD, then it might not be worth sending in. I have heard of a CHDK firmware that you can use, and it can detect and fix bad pixels on the CCD.

Thanks for any advice.
