Not sure how I feel about it.

I used 3 lights and a reflector. His hair kept shadowing his face. So I attempted to emphasize the tape over the mouth.

Good idea... im thinking maybe his shirt may be not right for the rest of the shot with the deep neck line...it's not bad though, i like it.

Yeah. I agree.

I wanted him to wear my suit jacket. It being 1am and him being 15 didn't help convincing. :)

Thanks though!

I love this type of photography, nothing like when you look at an image and it makes your mind wonder on what story the image has to tell. nice job.

Nice job on the model's part in matching the emotion in the eyes to the tape. Seems a little washed out, tho. Intentional?

I think the image has commercial feel to it but not really a "edgy portrait". I would call this an editorial shot or commercial art but not really the same catagory that you describe it as. BUT hey it's your shot!!

BTW, I think that it is very cool and says much more than you may have intended.

1. Teens hould be seen and not heard
2. Silenced at an early age
3. No matter what I say NO ONE listens

Technically I like the lighting it adds to the shot, so does the PP and the even better the reflection on the tape.

Good job

You need to sell the look more.

Next time rough up the subject (bruises, cuts, jacked up hair, torn clothing.....all faked of course ;) ) and pick a more dank background/setting.

This looks like he was kidnapped by doctors and held hostage in operating room #4 (too clean).

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll try to set up more with various people and make this into some form of series.

I may be shooting the band "The Devil Wears Prada" fairly soon. Maybe I'll do this for their headshots?
