I am 6'2" and need a monopod that isn't very expensive but will do a good job. I have a 40d and plan on getting a 70-200. and if anyone has any recommendations for a quick release head that would be great too!
Thanks

The 679,680,and 681 are all good, reasonably priced monopods. I use the 679 with the 3232 tilt head and I'm quite happy with it. I believe Kirk markets a 3232 head with one of their quick release clamps mounted to it.

Later I even added on a 488RC2 ball head that I bought when I bought a tripod. Well the irony in this all is I currently will find myself kneeling while taking pictures of sports of most kinds, sure I still use the monopod, but I have realised that height isn't everything. Thus the moral of this is don't forget to account for your shooting styles when purchasing equipment.

However I use the Kirk MPA-1 (which is the Manfrotto 3232 with a Kirk Arca Convertible QR system) because I like the Really Right Stuff L-Bracket for mounting a non tripod-ring equipped lens.
