An example of Mehndi (Indian hand painting) This is done freehand using henna and a paper icing bag. These can be really elaborate and cover the whole hand (and in some cases the feet as well) but this is defiantly a case of “less is more”. The bride was stunning.

Wonderful photo!

Did you get them pose for it?
Theres some great contrasts between the white and black, and even the ring is perfectly exposed.

If Iv still got my g/fs photos here Ill scan in a few of the ones she took in Dubi of some Sudanese Hena.
Its quite different, yet covers the same areas, as was mostly drawn free hand/
Unforunatly the Sudanese stuff has some toxic chemicals mixed in with it to make it black, and fair skin reacts very badly to it.

So long and thanks for all the flash

Nice capture, Neil :D

Was it shot outdoor or indoor with a flash bounce?

It was indoors with bounced flash. I did get them to pose for this but without any shadow of doubt this was the least disciplined wedding I have ever shot. People would not leave the room and not only was I competing with the army of P&S’s I also had to watch out for arms coming into shot holding Nokia’s finest.
