It's been a while since I've posted something here for your consideration. I was revisiting some of the photos of my last cruise, and this one appeals to me more now than it did at the time.

I like the mood. I wish the sea were a bit darker (can fix) and the lone person a bit closer (maybe next time).

What I find frustrating is, the pictures one takes on the spur of the moment are more pleasing than the ones you agonize over.

Chauncey: I agree totally. As you can see the weather was pretty dismal, and I was just walking the deck looking for interesting images. I didn't even consider working this one for the past year, but when I saw it again something grabbed at me. I think a lot of it has to do with shooting what is instictively pleasing to your eye, rather than over thinking the shot.

It's a great shot and it's also interesting how a shot can grab your attention after not seeing it for so long. Great conversion.
