A bulk package means it may come in a little white box or just a plastic bag. A retail package means it comes in the colorful box like you would find at retailers like Best Buy and Circuit City.

Often the bulk, or more commonly called OEM, packaging is slightly cheaper. On occasion, it carries a different warranty.

In either case, you are getting the same product so don't worry about it - unless you want the colorful box.

Well, I'd be concerned that "bulk pack" increases the likelihood of your actually getting counterfeit cards.

Personally I would stay away from bulk packaged. Just buy directly from a known, trust-worthy dealer like amazon, B&H, Adorama. I also recommend going with the Sandisk Extreme III cards. Thats all I use.

I think this is the best deal going.

Buy 3 at $45 each and get a $70 visa rebate for a total of $21 each.

Ditto. I would stick with retail package. This is just me being paranoid. :p

Its quite a bit slower. That means you might see a little lag between taking pics as the camera saves. More importantly, it will take 2-3x longer to download the card.

That, and there is no rebate on the ultra's. If you go with 4GB cards, you can get 3 for little more than $20 after the rebate. Sell one on eBay and the other 2 are free.

I get my cards from Costco sometimes and it looks fine. I think it's a bulk package.

The newer Sandisk Extreme III CF cards are really fast and they are great deals with the rebates going on as mentioned above.
