No problem.

I've been known to get PO'd at anybody who parks in an HC spot and then walks away from their car. I have to remind myself that "handicapped" doesn't necessarily mean "wheelchair."

For crying out loud I'm kidding.

I coulda sworn that my post was dripping with sarcasm and exaggeration as well as fairly ridiculous that someone would think such acts were "cool." Besides, I put a "wink" smilie at the end.

My apologies for flipping out too:cry:

I did catch the wink, but some things do just get to me. That's what happens when you go on-line too early in the morning, after cramming the night before (Cisco exams).

PS. Some one willing to trade for just about anything to write my Cisco Certification?

Geeze, I'm getting old....

You can use cheap glass on the film body - but make sure it's a black body with a grip. After all, you're not going to actually use it, just look impressive!

i like the way you think.

wonder what the going price of a film body is?

There are a lot of concert venues in Chicago that don't let photographers in. I've been forced to check my camera bag at more than one venue: the Metro, the Vic, etc.

I've figured out, however, that once you're in, they don't give a flip. In this case, it's best to give the impression you're not a pro. (I'm not, but apparently anyone with an slr and a bag full of lenses qualifies...)

Now that I have a Domke satchel, I can hide my gear underneath some books and papers until I get inside. Once you're in, they assume you're with the band.

Excellent!

I swear I feel like Moses as the people part and very generously open a nice path to the car, I even have people take the initiative to remind others not to get in my way.

I've had that, too. The 28-70 f/2.8 with the petal hood is better than Police tape! :D

After a while, if you saved all of your old passes, you would have the whole set. Get a hunter's license holder (clear plastic), and put the G.A. pass for the race you're at in one side...

That used to work for me, too, but I haven't tried it in 30 years.

I get there early so I can sneak in without paying the $2 parking fee at the wildlife reserves.

:D Don't try that in Michigan! It's a major source of their income!

I always figure they must be mentally handicapped....

My mom has been fighting cancer for 2 & 1/2 years straight. She has a handicapped sticker for her car. Most days she can barely make it from the car to whereever she's walking because she doesn't have the energy. But she can and does walk. So just because someone parks in a handicapped space and walks to whereever they're going doesn't necessarily mean they're mentally handicapped or not handicapped enough. Just thought I'd throw it out there to fight the ignorance.

Vest, white lens, silly non valid media pass. It's simply amazing how easy it is to fool some people.

people will always try to stop you doing the right thing if it is unconventional
Full frame and some primes.

There's only one thing that gets you inot more places than a pro looking camera with a pro looking lens,.. And that's TWO pro looking Cameras!

A flash unit, flash bracket and high-tech-looking coiled TTL cord is even more effective in my experience. Throw a mini softbox or Lumiquest attachment on it for extra eye-popping effect.

Normally it's just a camera. Put it on a bracket and people will say, "Wow, that's a big camera!"
