I *hate* zoom lenses that creep, drives me absolutely nuts for some reason. I've had 2 24-105's, and neither creeped, but if they did I'd send it off to Canon. connecticut wedding photographer

It means that the zoom lens will extend on its own when it is pointed downward. Friction will not keep the lens at a given zoom setting, so it "creeps" or extends.

Should I get help? I am kind of ashamed to admit it, but I really don't care. Unless all the other photographers are laughing at me and I don't know it. You guys aren't laughing at me are you? 5D, 10D, G10, the required 100 macro, 24-70, 70-200 f/2.8, 300 f2.8)

It would be nice to have the lens at its widest angle of view when I bring it up quickly for a fast action shot (zooming in on a subject is probably faster than zooming out to find it then framing and zooming back in) but I really don't think creep is a problem I am going to worry about. 5D, 10D, G10, the required 100 macro, 24-70, 70-200 f/2.8, 300 f2.8)
