This picture of the laughing dove was taken late afternoon in Kakamas, South Africa in September. This is a sandwich of two pictures: the dove and moon were also originally as in this image, but I focused the first shot on the dove and the second on the moon and combined those shots. I also needed to erase one branch which was in front of dove.

How do like the result? Anything you like to differently?

That's cute! It might be the basis for a greeting card.

Wow, i really like this. Great job. I noticed some slight "blurriness" around the moon, but besides that its really good.

VERY nice! I love the contrast in the colors of the tree (bush??) and the sky. Nice capture!

Thank you Robert. This really could work as a card.

Good point David. I was a bit sloppy with my editing. This blurriness I should and can fix.

Cheers Cdeming. It was quite a high plant, several meters. Not sure if that is classified a tree or bush, but the spikes you can see are really sharp.

Good work. I have also done the same trick using two images to get the foreground and background in focus. Most non-photographers don't even pick up on the improbable depth of field.

The bird is a seagull and the mountain is McKinley, a.k.a. Denali.

Nice work, Bill. - Let's hope this good trick will be used more often now. :D

Nice photo... but...

The branch you PP'd off of the dove needs to be removed completely... It appears to go behind the subject (dove), but doesn't correspond to natural DOF... it should be closer to in-focus rather than way out of focus. Also, the branch is out of proportion, size-wise (too big) with the adjacent branches.

Other than that, great shot

VERY cool! I agree with the need to remove that branch, but honestly, I didn't notice that at first look either...

Yeah, I was not sure what to do with that branch. But what about not to clone it out at all? Would it harm to have it in front of the bird?

Interesting, I was considering not to mention I have pp'd it out ... how many would have noticed that? ;)
