I've used and liked the Kata R-103. Great, safe bag. In fact, all the Kata stuff I've had has been very well made, very well padded and a good value for the dollar. I also like that they sell "kits" that let you cut your own size dividers so you can customize the bag to your likings.

If I had a complaint it would be that the padding is so extensive that comparably sized bags from other manufacturers will hold more gear - albeit with less protection.

did if fit awkward or bulge out when closed?

In order to get the camera to fit I had to put it in sideways. It fit snug that way. I wouldn't describe it as bulging out though.

FWIW, regarding the Slingshot 300...

I just got home after 21 days on the road with TBS covering the MLB Playoffs (we did Boston/Anaheim, Boston/Tampa)
http://www.pbase.com/flyingphotog/mlb2008 (external link)

I carried:
- 5D + Grip + 70-200 + Reversed Hood
- 24-105
- 17-40
- 50 f/1.4
- 1.4x TC
- 580 EX Speedlight
- Sekonic L-358 Meter (new .. needed play time .. didn't get it)
- Rocket Blower
- Stofen for the Speedlight
- Lens Pen
- 2 more hoods for 24-105 and 17-40
- Garmin GPS Cables and Suction Cup mount
- Phone Charger
- 2x Battery Charger
- Misc Other Crap

No issues... That's a lot of stuff in a convenient size. Dragged it all over Disneyland on one day off and Boston on another.

The Fastpac series..... similar in function to the Slingshot except 2 shoulder straps (more comfortable) instead of one, and a storage compartment on top for jacket/lunch/whatever.

Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.

Philly.
Loved Game 1.
Like Egordon said, a big Phillies fan, take your gear with you to the Camera shop in Bryn Mawr and try all your stuff inside before buying.
They have both the Minitrekker AW and the Fastpack 350 in stock and see which you feels the most comfortable to you.
I have all the equipment you have minus the grip.

i was there yesterday and wasn't very impressed, to be honest. maybe i went to the wrong store. i went to

The Camera Shop
Camera Shop - Ardmore West Shopping Center
Lancaster Ave. & Woodside Rd.
Ardmore, PA 19003
Phone: 610-642-2464

Honestly, i went to the Calumet on clumbus boulevard and was much more impressed, not only in inventory but knowhow and gear.

This is the shop - http://www.thecamerashoponline.com/ (external link)

Looks like you accidentally went to one of the "Ritz" chain stores (they go by "Camera Shop", "Ritz", "Wolf Camera") oops!
