3 things.

-Horizon is tilted
-Houses on the left are distracting
-Cut off a part of the dress (feels just as bad as cutting off fingers)

IMO, if you lead them on the green and shot it with a 100mm, you would have yourself a keeper

- horizon is not tilted (at least i dont think it is) but gives you the illusion that it is. its probably more barrel distortion as it was shot with a 16-35 @ 16mm using a 5D.
- i agree with the houses -- i wish they werent there. i probably should crop it but i really want to keep the wide view.
- unfortunately, it was not possible to shoot on the green (it was against the golf club rules -- dont ask why). wouldve loved them on the green though.

thanks for the comments! :)

Good approach on the angle, but I'm finding too many distractions in the photo (the houses as mentioned above, and the trees coming out of their heads).

I think the composition would've been better had you not cut off the dress either.

Just my .02. Any more to the series? Looks like a great place to shoot.

yeah, that place is beautiful. The reception hall inside of the clubhouse is awesome. Food was amazing. It's really a top notch venue.

Anyhow in regards to the shot, he's dipped her kinda away from you, not letting you see any kind of expression on his face. Make it so you are perpendicular to them for the dip, so you can see both their facial expressions.

Also, use a higher focal length. Put them on the other side of the tee box, and you stand far away, and get the telephoto out. If you shot this at 200mm, and kept both of them the same size as they are in your pic, you'd just have them in the shot, and those gorgeous mountains and trees behind them, but much bigger and closer and more dramatic. You could have even shot this in landscape orientation and not gotten the houses on the left in the shot.

Just remember, a zoom lens is NOT a tool that allows you to walk around less. You gotta PICK you focal length first, zoom to it, and then walk to the position that works best for your chosen length.

MasterChief,

These are very nice! Looks like a great venue with some beautiful backdrops for photos!

Was the Arbiter your second shooter? lol... sorry had to squeeze in a Halo joke (I'm a huge fan)

The second batch really look great. Much better capture on the dip, too.

1. Nice group shot and good use of fill. I'd crop in from the bottom right a bit to get rid of some of the houses and blown sky. Also see if you can fix some of the barrel distortion on the groomsman in the bottom right.

2. I am also getting the feeling that the dip shots look tilted. I don't know if it's an illusion caused by the spine of the mountain, but even the roof tops looks a bit slanted. They are nearly in the center of the image and should be close to horizontal or tilted up slightly. Maybe it's just the way it is and it just looks off. Still, it's much better composition wise.

3. Great capture. Nice pose, emotion and composition. I'd just add some contrast and saturation.

4. Nice capture with great use of ambient light for the background.

I hope you do'nt take this the wrong way but here's some CC for you. Not trying to put you down, but here's few pointers

IMAGE: http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p155/fingerbowl/tangodip.jpg
This is NOT straight or almost, it's off balance.

IMAGE: http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p155/fingerbowl/SIDEB-253Custom.jpg
Why the extra space on each side? Why would you even include the houses and the cup??
BTW, if your going to shoot against the light, you better not blow out the dress and you better have enough fill light to compensate.
