Hey..

Anyone have any recommendation on a waist bag to carry a lens or two.

I hate carrying my big backpack around, so i thought it would be great to have a waist bag for lenses, filters and memory cards.

I was thinking of the LowPro Invere 100AW (external link)

Boda bag's are nice but pricey..

Most of the bags i see are large and are meant for a camera. I dont need it to hold a camera.

Just a 70-200 and maybe another lens...

the 70-200 comes with a pouch that has a beltloop on it - so just put your belt through that and you have somewhere to carry your lens. Same with the 580 pouch :)

What about the Lowepro belt system with individual sliplock lens cases?

Yup, Lowepro has two different padded belts available. Both can accept as many or as few Lowepro lens cases as you can fit around your girth! :)
I use one myself to support a couple of large lens cases, and also slip it into the beltloop of my Lowepro Stealth Reporter bag to take some of the weight off the shoulder strap. Then when I arrive at my final location I remove the bag and use the belt with only a couple lens cases, to keep my 'working lenses' with me for rapid changing while my bag has all the rest of my stuff nearby but less immediately accessible.

The Domke F5-XB has a belt loop as well as a shoulder strap and will hold up to a 300 mm lens in the main compartment, or you can use the divider to hold a couple of smaller lenses. The front pocket will hold your batteries, cards and the like.

Take a look at the Think Tank ChangeUp bag. It will hold a 70-200 and another lens quite comfortably. You can wear the bag as a beltpack, chest bag, or shoulder bag. It is quite versatile.

What Jon said. These are slightly padded Domke's. The shoulder strap comes off BTW but no waist strap is included. The Domke belt is good or your own belt for a waist strap.

If you want to go for a vertical hold the unpadded Domke super pouch is good and they make a small horizontal unpadded pouch for small things. You would want two pouches on a belt for these to work with what you describe which make the F5XB more suited as a one pouch solution.

The Lowepro pouches are padded though so you get the protection at the cost of bulk. The slip lock system is real handy. I use the smaller Domke pouch with my f4 and the reversed hood gives some bump protection. I like the Domke because when it is empty if folds down flat and the lens that came off the camera is in a small shoulder bag.

You can use the Domke's shoulder strap to sling it around your waist, if you like. Connect it to the bag's D-rings and shorten it to fit.
