These are 2 of my best (in my opinion) from a recent portrait shoot. Greg was open completely to my artistic direction and we came out with some fantastic images!

The 2 here are taken with 24-70, polarizer and a single 430ex on a lightstand with no modifiers. I'm actually very pleased with the harsher light.

Full shoot on my website in signature.

Both are nice, crisp images.. I like the composition. Great reflections in the second!

Nice shots! But can you desaturate his sock in #2? ;)

Nice composition.

Actually #1 gives a feeling of introspection while standing in the vastness of the beach and sky. Makes me feel good. It tells a story which is what a good picture can do.

Haha, he actually had one rainbow sock and one purple striped sock. I figured with that combination it shows his personality and kept it as is.

Thanks for all the comments everyone. It was my intention to overexpose the sky/water in #1 so it's harder to see the horizon to get a more expansive feel. It also gave me a better contrast with his silhouette. That and I tend to overexpose...

I dont know if its my laptop monitor but it looks to me like there is a halo around the man in #1. thats my only complaint but its hard to tell if it is really there. i would have to see a print to know for sure if its my eyes or the image it self.

"A photograph never grows old. You and I change, people change all through the months and years, but a photograph always remains the same. How nice to look at a photograph of mother or father taken many years ago. You see them as you remember them. But as people live on, they change completely. That is why I think a photograph can be kind."
