I know the second one especially isn't that sharp, it was taken with an a520 afterall, but I was wondering if you guys think I should persue this kind of style or if it's just overdone.

The first thing that popped into my mind with the first one is: "grain"

especially being B&W. I suppose you could add grain, sorta, by messing with image size/resolution.

On the second one I'd like to see more of the city skyline to the right, keeping the person in the pic.

Thanks. I agree about the grain, I should try that. Do you like the overall concept and style?

Well, my thoughts on the first were opposite. Could the chrome and plastic top have been cleaned up more?

They don't seem highly "stylized" to me, so I think you have plenty of room to work with them. Like anything, they are good in moderation.
