My Canon Digital Rebel XT (350D), NB2L battery was dead after not
being used for a few months while lying inside my camera bag. I was about
to throw it out when I decided to try scraping the three metal contacts at
the end of the battery.
And, it worked!...so whats that all about. Is "battery maintenance" required on these
NB2L batterys?....if so, thats news to me. I did the scraping with a small kitchen paring knife. As I was scraping, it occured to me that perhaps this was not the right tool to use.
These batterys are on the expensive side. And, Canon charges a lot for their NB2L, so I use other brands in the hopes that they'll last fairly long. What I do is when I get a new NB2L, I tape the "date" that I got it onto the battery just to keep track of its durability.
Does anyone know if there's some kind of "battery maintenance" for these NB2L batterys?
