Last night we arrived home around 7:30 or so, I went to the front door, placed my Pelican case full of gear on the patio chair, and ran over to my car in the driveway. My wife asked if she should carry my case in and I said no, I will get it. I think to myself that I cannot forget to take it in. Well I roll out of bed at 4am, get ready, and step outside at 4:30 am to be greeted with my Pelican case still sitting on the patio chair in open view of all passer-bys. All is well but it was full of all my gear:

Sony Handycam, Canon Powershot G6, Canon 30D, Battery Grip, 430EX Flash, Canon 70-300mm IS, 28-135mm IS, 50mm, 2 Hoods, 3 Battery Packs, 2 Chargers, all the cables needed, rocket blower, Stofen, 13GB of Ultra 3 CF cards, Manuals, and of course the Pelican 1550 case.

Makes me glad I was wise enough to insure it all.

Does your insurance cover you for leaving it outside your house all night?!

Yes, it would. I was told if I drop it down the stairs it is covered. If I am running, trip, and land on it...covered. I bought a personal items protection policy for my camera gear, computer gear, and my tools. I also know the insurance agent quite well so I know its not just smoke up my wahzoo. My wife actually worked for the branch while attending college.

You are one lucky SOB to still have your gear. I think in most neighbourhoods that would be for sale about 30 mins after your back was turned!

Well when we moved to this neighborhood 10 years ago I used to leave my keys in my mustang all the time without one worry. Times have changed. 3 years ago my newest neighbor had his car stolen right out of his driveway. He lives right next door. I used to refer to my street as Leave it to beaver street, as there was nothing to ever worry about.

Sad but its the way things are going, and will only ever get worse and never get better :(

YOu think? lol. I drove in via the A9 then on to the A720 (went in to town aswell as i had to pick something up for the wife) and i had problems actually getting there with the road works and closures there. In the end i ended up having to park up and get a bus in to city centre. THen i came out, got back on the bus and could'nt find my car! :o finally i managed it and got to the location.

Long time since i had been there, still amazes me though the amount of lovley history around the place! Unfortunatly the amount of roadworks that is going on in there is making it less desirable at the moment. Once they have finished looking for the sweetie paper they have lost in the hole, and fill them all back in before they put their toy down (tramset) then i think it will be back to the way i remember it :D (though it has changed alot since i was last there lol:)
