Hi there
i searched for Milky Way images on the net and found your photo, very impressive. i live in South Africa and have just written a book called the Star Gazer's Deep Space Atlas. Its for local sales in SA for astronomers and people wanting to learn the night sky. Anyway, i am about to print a few more but would like to include a photo of myself with my telescope under the milky way. Would you allow me to use your photo? my brother will photoshop me into the photo, make me look like im standing on the ground. I will print your name below the image for which you will get credit for.
Regards
Wayne Mitchell, author of the star atlas.

This shot just made me even more excited for my John Muir Trail excursion coming up in August. Awesome, very well done.

badger, is this your first JMT? I would really love to do it myself. I might try part of the trail myself around july/aug. earlier in the year, i think the river crossing might be tough if you have electronic gear.

Yes, it will be. Me and a buddy are doing it, I'm pretty pumped. The moon will be full though for most our trip but hopefully we get some dark nights toward the end.
