Quick question re: Vivitar 285HV and Skyports/CS's

Just wondering if any of you guys are actually using these flash guns with either Skyports or the Cybersyncs? Am looking into placing an order for a Speedlight and wireless combo very soon, and am tempted by these guns with one of these triggers.

Do you connect the guns up using a mini-jack from the receivers into a sync socket on the 285's? Did you need any other cables other than what came out of the box?

Any of you have any decent reason why I should look elsewhere at anything else? The lights will be mainly used for portraiture out in the open if it matters.

It should work..I have read a few people that have that combination. I'm actually planning on purchasing the Cybersyncs. myself!! You'll need this in order for them to work though.

Thanks for that. Interesting that the FZ site says you need a seperate cable for Skyport/285HV connecting. I wonder if the CS's need the same seperate cable or just the normal one?

That could should be the only one you need. The cable it mentions for the Skyports is the exact same cable just made for a Skyport-285hv connection. You'll be fine if you just purchase the cable I posted

The Skyport will NOT work with the new version of the 285HV without a specialized cable. There is more to the issue than just an ordinary sync connection.

The CyberSync WILL work with the 285HV using a more pedestrian sync cable.
