This guy turned his 450D into a video capture, just like the d90 and 5dm2. How ca he do that?

Live view with video capture to computer. Don't see these things happening outdoors.

hes probably either 1) using live view synced to his computer or 2) running chdk

Yeah, there was a guy with a 40D that did this but he showed the 40D being able to do it. really cool and it was a hack like Canon wanted to, were going to, but just decided to hold up on the video-in-camera release.

definitely not what canon wanted to do. canon wants to keep it as simple as possible, otherwise why upgrade when you have a camera that can be pushed to the limits? A point and shoot that can take 1/100,000 to 64 second shots is pretty impressive. but still doesn't deliver the IQ of a dslr. so for now, canon is still good.
